Crossroads Bible Church of Bellevue, Washington sent their second team to Astorga, Spain. Where they served with our Ministry Partners, Steve and Cathy Crawford, to start new and develop existing relationships so the new church plant continues to grow and influence the community. Our group invited the locals to an American cultural fair and provided the Capilla Iglesia Astorga a platform to meet their the neighbors and share the love of Jesus.
Last year 80 contacts resulted from the American culture fair, people who did not know about Jesus and who the Crawfords have been following-up with personally.
Excerpts from Elder Report…
…Prayer may be one of the best, if not the best, weapon against the apathy that is over Spain. But there is so much hope: Ponferrada is such a bright star, and I think that is a great indicator that the work that Steve and Cathy will be doing in Astorga is going to be successful – and even that will be in God’s timing.
…This experience has encouraged me to be more courageous to share my faith with my non-believing friends and coworkers here.
…God has granted us an amazing beachhead here. I can’t image a better location: across the street from a public gym that can be used for youth outreach, minutes from the city center, very close to the park at the center of a major high-rise neighborhood, plus lots of drive-by and foot traffic.
…God was teaching me that it takes time to build relationships and therefore for his actions to lead you to the place of effectiveness. I learned to just relax and leave the divine appointments up to him, but to stay in the word and pray over things confident in his answering of my prayer requests.
